No disrespect to the real Moms out their, but I consider myself to be a "dog-mom", mom and supervisor of a 7 year old labrador.  In many ways he has behavioral issues and needs that resemble a toddler`s.  So, what I had to learn early in the development and day-to-day operations of my business, is to put together a schedule for work and dog and house.

When I was in corporate life, having those things exist on the same list were unthinkable...now it`s a must.  So at exactly 11:30am est...I have to stop what I`m doing and take Trotter for his walk.  At exactly 4:00, it`s play time, dinner and walk.

My point is, work with a schedule....write everything down.

Best of luck everyone!

Kim:

I am a dog mom too and demand the respect that real moms get...my babies (a whippet named Sue Ellen and a lab named Daisy) require 110% of my love, affection and attention.  We are real mommies too

As a business owner and mother of two boys (ages 4 and 1) I can say that it is HARD! It is not too bad if you can just work for yourself at your own pace, but I am at the point where I have a sitter come in daily so I can get things done and I`m hiring friends at night when they get home from work to help get orders out the door. I feel like all I do is work and I can`t even pay myself yet (hardly at all anyway). It`s very taxing on me, but at the same time it is an incredible feeling of accomplishment! It`s totally worth it but just be aware that when things start growing it can be difficult to balance things between family and your biz. I`m finding that out!

Hi everyone,

In response to the weekly question by Work at Home Mom Bloggers, I just posted a blurb about keeping fit when you`re an entrepreneur/busy parent.

Hope maybe someone finds it helpful (and today I think I`ll start following my own advice and log off of here to go for a walk.)

Best wishes,

Sheila
