I have got what I think is great idea for an adult themed reality TV show. It`s sexy and funny. And I think, if it can be sold, could be very profitable. And it would be GREAT FUN making it.

I am looking to raise $10,000.00 dollars to film the pilot (production costs, advertising for girls to participate, advertising to drive interest) I think that amount will work in terms of getting something into the can to present to several targeted cable networks.

So my question is how do I raise the money without giving up a majority interest?  And is this something that can be done here on Startup Nation.

Thanks for your help.

If this is truley something that you are passionate about...reach out to your regional artist community and ask friends and families to volunteer or to lend money.

The way to acquire capital without trading ownership is through debt - either you or the company borrows the capital.

If you need to sell equity then "valuation" comes into play. Simply stated, for you to get a $10,000 investment for less than 50% of the equity, you will have to convince the investor that the company is worth at least $10,000 prior to their investment.  Generally, this begins with some form of business plan and financial projections.

Can`t say I`m interested in the show, but you can get 10k easily from peer-to-peer lending sites if your credit is halfway decent. Prosper.com and Zopa.com are the big ones.

$10K? One credit card can cover that.

Yes, but I don`t want it to be my credit card.

Let me know if you`re interested.

If you are not willing to put down 10K for your own idea, how much chance do you think you can get other people to put in the money?
