I own a new growing social network and would like to add music content. I want to do everything legally and i can allow users to start uploading their music..like bands and artists, but i will probably get all the little guys doing it that none of my users know. I want to have the well known artists`s music but don`t have any connections or money to get rights to distribute their music.

Does anyone know how i can get this started. Any tips? There are many playlist sites already that provide music and users can build them and add them to their profiles on different social networks but i want to have something that is on my site. Any help would be helpful.

thanks

Actually, you might want to go with the independents.  They are more willing to work with you and don`t usually have lengthy corporate contracts. Then when one gets big, so does a part of your site.  Many groups these days are selling their music right from their own sites, which wouldn`t motivate them to put it on your site, but you might be able to grab an RSS for free from them.  Then if they see lots of referrals from your site, they will want to work more with you.

When you plan to add some music content on your website than you get some basic knowledge about PHP and it is most important thing in this issue. Otherwise you get the professional developer service it helps in this issue.
