Hey Guys-
I`m new to StartupNation, but not really new to online business networking communities. I actually heard about StartupNation through the BusinessJive Blog where the founders Jeff and Rich were interviewed for a podcast. Here is the link.

If anyone here is interested in seeking out other online business networking communities, there are quite a few out there to which I have all tried. Some I liked and some I didn`t and some I didn`t have time to commit to.

Here are just a few for your convenience

Ecademy- Has more than 100,000 business professionals from all around the Globe. Consists of mostly professionals from the U.K.

LinkedIn - Boasts more than a database of 6 million business professionals who use the site to find jobs, make deals, recruit employees, etc... . My Profile

Ryze - Been around for more than 4 years. It`s the U.S version of Ecademy but has 4x the membership. There are alot of great forums on there if you want to learn about small business too. Forums include topics about online marketing, entrepreneurship, SEO, small business, etc... I used to hang out there all the time but moved on. Here is my profile if you are interested.

OpenBC- This is my current hangout. I consider it to be the best place to be to make connections with high level business professionals from any industry you can think of. Of the 3 above SNS [social networking sites], openBC has only been around for less than 3 years but has over 1,000,000 members. It has a large international community because it originally started in Germany. Here is my profile too. Incidentally, I also run a forum there called, The Entrepreneurs Playground. Obviously, it`s a place for entrepreneurs to discuss entrepreneur related issues as well.

I hope this helps a few people here increase their network.

BTW- does anyone know how to make my website url `live" in my sig?

The sites you`ve listed are great resources....

I would also check out http://www.blogcarnival.com...there  are several good entrepreneur blogs within that community.

HDean,
Nice little advertising for your place. But really, you have provided some great information. It is exactly the type of info I came here to read!

Ken. Hmm...that name sounds familiar. Do I know you from somewhere? :)

Kim- Yes, I know Blogcarnival. I have a colleague in Scott Allen who has hosted a few of their carnivals. He is usually found writing for About.com and their Entrepreneurs Column and for the Fastcompany.com column which also has Keith Ferrazi, author of the bestselling book on networking, Never Eat Alone. Great book as I refer to it from time to time.

He also has his own blog on social software and wrote a pretty good book on online networking called The Virtual Handshake.

Netrix- I have a pretty good memory but I can`t recall your name/avatar from Ryze. Unless you went by another name? I`m pretty good at remembering whose who.

H Dean,

I was referred to you buy Dr. Bell. Remember? I am working on  a new site for the recruiting industry..., you then referred me to some other people that you know. Oh well. Welcome anyway!
