I just wanted to single Chris out for a big "thank you."  First of all, I love her fun, energetic web site, manner of doing business and what appears to be great products.  We were looking for the perfect birthday gift for a friend and the "Dippy Chick" products were an excellent solution.  The minute I showed them to Ed he said "go for it."  I had a quick question, emailed Chris through her site and got an very quick response.  Her business web site made it very easy to order a unique and fun gift for our friend.  I can`t wait for Shawn to get her package because, being the ultimate party hostess, I know she`ll love Chris` stuff - and I`ll get to sample them because I`ll force her to share!

(and another "thank you" to SuN for introducing me Chris and her business!)

Jeff - she is a hoot and great gal! If you haven`t read her blog - Sure Rants A Lot, do so soon and get ready to laugh. Another side of Chris that probably won`t surprise those of us who have been around her for some time now.

I was reading her blog early today and almost spit coffee on my monitor when I started laughing.

OMG! I just happened upon your posts just now. You guys are so awesome! Thanks so much! Wow, you really made my evening. I`m blushing -->  I can`t put into words how satisfying it is to have such compliments on my products. Being an entrepreneur is so freakin` great. There are lots of lows, but the highs are euphoric! I can see why Rich and Jeff are addicted to it.
It`s also so flattering to know that you are enjoying the blog. Now you all know what a total weirdo I can be. Can you imagine if I drank alcohol? Yikes.

While I am here, I have some news. I am working on a plan to move my business into a commercial space. It`s getting really cramped here in my little area. I am looking at retail-type spaces because I`d really like to have a place for the locals to come in and buy our stuff as well as pick up orders. I even talked to the manager of our bank. Since I`ve been in business for 2 years (almost) I can borrow relatively easily according to him. Keep your fingers crossed for me? This is a HUGE step and I`m kind of freaking out.

Thanks again for the really nice posts! You guys rock.

Chris,

I think a brick & mortar store front would be a great addition to your business if you can pull it off and I believe you can. Just more exposure and more opportunities to create more customer evangelists.

I bet if you asked for investors here, you`d find more than enough willing "partners" to fund your expansion.

Hey Rich - Yes, I can see the retail store doing well here. I would probably sell other food products besides my own and maybe even put together some nice "cash and carry" gift baskets. If I could really have my way I`d open a big old time country store selling my products plus cheese, maple syrup, cider, coffee, tea, fudge, baked goods, candy, salsas, jellies, etc. These items are big here in Northern New England and I live near a busy road that many people from the Boston area take to get to the mountains. Plus the closest place that sells that kind of stuff is about 40 minutes north, so it would be a prime location.

As for investors, maybe... I don`t know what I want to do. I guess it depends on the bank. Also, I don`t really have an exit strategy because I really plan to own the company and store for an indefinite period of time. But who knows what the future holds.

Chris -

Sounds very franchisable to me!  I`m sure you`ll figure out a way and then make it a grand success!
