Hey Roland, great advice!  I still haven`t tried tweet deck yet though. I haven`t even checked it out.  I`m concerned I`d have even "more" going on..And you know me about tech stuff. That`s why I have you! So I just tweet from the web. It works for me. I do have to say twitter has been beneficial to our business in many ways..

What type of schedule or time do you dedicate to twitter or other social networks?

I can`t speak for anyone else, but I devote very little time to Twitter. A few minutes in the morning, and a few minutes in the afternoon and evening. If you know what you`re doing, a few minutes on Twitter goes a long way.

Debs5, Twitter can be very time consuming, just like any other social  network marketing site as in face book, my space etc, to get results.  I would never spend a lot of time, trying to figure them all out, or spend a lot of time on them!

But what I`ve found with  Twitter is there are so many there that interest me, that I can learn from quickly. I can also find ways to market our business and still be personal in my interaction. I can communicate with  followers.

You`ll be amazed at the connections you`ll find!

Good luck, and have fun!

I am still new to the Twitter experience and I am not sure yet if it fits our business model. That being said I think it is worth a shot and I appreciate your insights.

At least you have an open mind about Twitter. Until recently, when it came to Twitter, my mind was closed tighter than a steel bear trap.  Needless to say, I`ve changed my tune.

Nice that David Jackson has realized the benefits of twitter, as I hope you all do in business.  Twitter should not be a time waster, but a chance to take a few minutes to interact with others.  It could benifit you!  But you should never stop interacting on the best informational  site SUN, where we all learn so much! Rich Sloan started a great site for us all! Thanks Rich!

Dave, I just visited your website and discovered you`re a small business consultant. A consulting business is tailor made for Twitter. For example, you could tweet small business tips and generate new business for yourself that way. Like I`ve said a million times, you are limited only by your imagination.

This is a great post as it serves as a guide for those who are uncertain about the whole idea of Twitter. I signed on to twitter sometime ago and left the account there as I had no idea what to do with it. About 6 months later, I signed back on and began to announce upcoming projects (CD/Book), post links to my blog, connect with others in my field, etc. and it has certainly worked for me. One of my posts actually connected me directly with the medical director of a top pharmaceutical company who responded to my post sending their phone contact and there you have it - a top notch connection. In addition, I am also receiving invites to speak at conferences/seminars, etc. Just keep it simple/precise.
