      I am in the gemstone mining business. I am major shareholder of a mine in south east asia. We sell facetted rubies and sapphires.

 

      In my line some of the people are home business owners and they work as gemstone brokers for me, 1-2k is easily reachable for them, some of them make this in a week. They have clients and get the orders and i pay them commissions. Some as you say work online, some take orders at shows or get order via different ways. I don`t question their ways and i send the orders to their clients.

 

      There is one guy that buys sapphires and rubies from me every month, he started out with a cart and ended up with his own store, it took him 5 years but he is doing well. What he does is buy gemstones from me usually minimum required and sold them on the cart cheaper than anyone in the mall, because he bought from the miners(us).

 

      He made money by selling dirctly to the consumer, he started by selling beryllium gems cheaply by the carat which was around US $18 per carat but he buys from me at US $6.50

He make 300% profit every shipment.

       Actually pvnation, if anything if you got holding power now might be the time to grab hold of cheap real estate.

 

        The keyword is ofcourse holding power and don`t panic sell :). There are no shortcuts in life, the toughest roads are the ones that leads to a pot of gold.

 

         Look at the stockmarket, see which sectors are in the gutter, real eatate, banking, manufacturing, telecoms. The ones that seem to be doing good technology, mining.

 

This gives you a rough idea on what to focus on.
