It`s in honor of my Boston Celtics in the NBA finals.

Thanks for the info on Joomla. Sounds like I`ll be able to nail it down with the course. I`m heading off to sign up now.

Thanks agian.

Mike,
Went to joomla DOT com and it only offers the PC download, not a MAC download so the ZIP files won`t unzip to my Mac. Is there another site for the MAC zip files?

Hi Carlos.

Good question. Actually, the download should work just fine for both Mac and PC. (In fact, I`m a mac user myself.)

What program are you using to extract the files? (I use stuffit expander. Mac version available for free here.) And what did it say when you tried to unzip the files? Did you get an error message?

Note, you don`t have to do anything on your computer with the files once they`re extracted. That is, after they`re extracted you don`t have to open them up and do anything. Just go ahead and upload them to your site using an ftp program.

Hope this helps.

Hi Carlos.

I just added a thread about GoDaddy installation to our brand new support forum. Take a look here. Hope it answers your question.

Mike,
I`m up and running and have used your tutorial. It was a bit of a challenge with my host GoDaddy, though not insurmountable. We both now know that it won`t run with Windows hosting there, only Linux hosting for Joomla at GoDaddy. I really appreciate your help and prompt replies to my many questions about the installation process. As you know my site is:

http://thebajachronicle.info

...and you will find daily changes as I learn more about the different modules and extensions, which I plan to add. Again, it was a buck well-spent and I would recommend (already have!) to my friends that are Website-challenged. Visit me often as I need to generate some numbers for future advertisers.
Cheers!
Carlos

Hello Mike,
Your course was incredibly easy, though getting it right with my webhost was a little tricky.
I`ve already even posted video on my site. I hope you create more advanced videos as they are are really easy to follow and very helpful. Thanks for your help along the way.
Carlos
ps. I`m trying to find how to replace the "masthead" on top across the entire page on all the pages. Where is that? I already have a jpg ready to drop in there. Thanks again.

Hi Carlos.

I`m very happy to hear things are going well for you. And I took some time to check out your site, definitely coming along! Congratulations!

The image that you want to replace is called mw_joomla_logo.png and it will be located in your /templates /rhuk_milkyway /images directory.

An easy way to make the switch would be to rename the file as mw_joomla_logo_ORIGINAL.png. Then upload your site`s actual logo and simply title it "mw_joomla_logo.png" This way you don`t actually have to change the reference to the file name  within your template.

Also, just fyi, there`s an easy way to figure out the name of any image that you want to replace: while looking at the page in your brower, just right click the image and choose "view background image." Then take a look at the url in your brower, and it`ll be showing you the file name (and where it`s located ).

Hope this helps,
Mike
