Has anyone used this company?

Trying searching for them in google and see if someone who has used them have written any kind of review. Other than that, like the above comment mentioned, call them and ask them a lot of questions.

FundingUniverse.com  has several funding options.  Initially, it was mostly composed of a few angel investors in the mid-west, but have started offering other services such as line of Business Credit etc which have fees associated with them (as do most).

However, like any other angel investor or venture capital group - the better prepared you are the better for you. Instead coming to them and asking for help - know what you want (loan or equity shares via stock offering)

I always recommend people practice their elevator pitch in front of friends and family and visit their local SBA or SCORE office first to get as polished as you can before getting in front of the pros.  Also, if you get an Angel Investor and need a mentor then try to align yourself with investors who have been successful in your industry if possible. Experience helps.
