Hi SUN`ers,

I`ve been in and out of here but usually come back to fire up my entrepreneur juices. I love this site and hope this continues for years to come.

Well,  I`d like to share something that gave me hopes and gave me fears and thanks to this great nation we all can dream and live the dream. I`m here writing to you from my bed, wife and kids are sound asleep and with one night light as my guide. It all started with my first purchase of the iphone, I was excited and felt like I was on top of the world as far as cellphones were concerned.

One week, two weeks, three weeks passed and I was at a point where I couldn`t stand typing on my iphone as I had frequently typos. So, I called a close friend of mine and asked him (he`s a mac freak) if there were some type of aid to avoid my typos and to my dismay and frustration he replied "No". He too had the same issue with the iphone so his advice was to "live with it". And of course knowing myself I didn`t. So, I embarked on a mission to figure something out. Nothing clicked just yet, until one day I unexpectedly found it through a mistake I made working. I had a working prototype by weeks` end.

Well one evening I showed it to my friend and to my surprise he went buck wild and it was the funniest thing because he woke his girlfriend up just to show her, she too was wowed by it. I was not sure if to believe their hype or what not but they sure were loving the idea. He then insisted for me to sell a couple of them online. Mind you this was a personal thing for me so I was reluctant. At the end of his constant persuasion I ended up creating a complete identity to this simple idea namely " My Touch Keys".

So down the list I went... website, check, paypal, check, umm now what? How was I suppose to even start  telling anyone about this? Well here comes the part where it totally turned my life upside down.  I made a small, third person post, complaining about the iphone`s keyboard and left a link to my website. Oh boy, I remember it was a Saturday in the wee hours when I had finished everything and fell asleep. I wake up hours laters to see something spectacular happen before my very eyes. My Paypal account was receiving payments by the minutes, I was soo afraid of hitting the refresh button because the numbers kept growing and growing. Even Paypal contacted me to see if I was selling something legit, I mean, who gets a call from Paypal...lol.

Well, as you all can figure, it was a success and like wildfire my name and website were all over the net, I had orders from all over the world. From places I never knew had the iphones. I swear, I slapped myself in the forehead and said to myself  "what have I done!". It was a beautiful monster taking shape into the unknown, I wasn`t prepared for something of that magnitude. My guess was that I was going to sell a couple of them and thats it.

Well, I rushed out all the orders with the help of my family. I was being contacted by the media, Current TV produced a 35 sec clip and aired it on cable TV. I had calls from distributors and wholesalers worldwide. The senior editor of Macworld was calling me! MacZone.com wanted to resell! I was LOST!

Nothing prepares you for this, I mean, its not written in books or taught anywhere. I took the bull by the horn until I couldn`t hold on anymore. I had to step away from it all, to analyze and recollect. I had to press the pause button to see where I was going to take this.

I know this is a long post but I had to share my journey with you guys as I feel you guys are my extended entrepreneurial family. But it was an incredible ride. Theres nothing like it when the spot light is on you and your idea. I`m more of a creator and less of the business side.  I`m currently looking for help to undertake this again and well I`m here to see who can give me a guiding hand.

Talk about the difficulty of finding a Sun post again!  I briefly read this earlier today, but meant to go back and fully read it.
Sounds like a great experience filled with success!. Something that many are striving for, but worried if they are prepared for.  You say it was a great ride,..... it`s not over is it?  Wishing you continued success!
