'If I get my EIN before I start my business, do I have to file taxes as a business? And if not how long do I have before I do? And do i have to pay some kind of fees for the EIN.

If you are planning to do your own taxes, there is a separate form you have to file in order to report business earnings and on this for you enter your EIN earnings. If your earnings were zero then you just fill out the form as zero. If you use TurboTax they ask you those questions..
