Hi everyone!

Long story short I just completed the business plan for my web based startup..., it is a very "different" idea, so you have to be somewhat open, but it has gotten some interest from investment communities even when it was just an idea on a few powerpoint slides.

I have no idea if my business plan is complete garbage or not, so I need some honest feedback with zero sugar coating please i.e. if it is awful and people would laugh in my face after reading it, then I need to know that :)

I have about $18,000 lumped into the project and it is about 90% complete, so I am very serious about this...

I tried to make the document as entertaining as possible, I have read a lot of other business plans, and simply put... they bored me to death with their tidal wave of charts and numbers... so I took a sort of non traditional approach when writing it... this could be a good thing... it could be a bad thing... that is why I need some help evaluating it.  Also, I tried to remember my audience as well... I don't believe too many corporate suits would be sitting down to read this, although I could be wrong.

Anyways, if you have some good credibility, or have any type of experience in the tech/startup world, I would love for you to take a look at my BP.  It is about 40 pages, but about 10 of those pages are pictures.  It would probably take you around a half hour, maybe a little less to read.

Plus, once you provide some simple, quality feedback, there is a $10 eGiftcard in it for you to wherever you would like (as long as they offer the ability to purchase eGiftcards).

Thanks and hope to get some good responses!

Jake,

I've seen a lot of business plans and "styles". Since, as I infer from your post, you intend to acquire some capital, remember that investors "expect" to see some of those charts and numbers. On the other hand, to be effective, a business plan needs to be "read" - so developing one that captures attention and is "easy" & entertaining to read is positive, as long as it delivers the information to the reader that they expect.

Furthermore, the "style" should be appropriate to the business as much as the intended reader.  For example, the "right" style for a bank probably wouldn't work very well for either a high tech startup or an exotic sports car maker.

I hope this helps. if you'd like to discuss your situation, feel free to drop me a PM or contact me directly.

You can use gift cards either as a promotional item or to sell at your business. Most gift cards are linked to a third party credit card processor. Keep in mind that gift cards can now be used in both offline and online stores---in many cases your customers don't even need a physical card in order to purchase items from you.
